Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed announced Thursday that senior leaders within Ethiopia’s government are currently undergoing a specialized training program at the Hurso Military Training Center.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister, the training is strategically designed to equip leaders with the knowledge, skills, and experience required to translate the grand strategy of the "Medemer" civilization into tangible practice.
The "Medemer" (synergy) philosophy, a cornerstone of the current administration’s ideological framework, emphasizes unity, collaboration, and the pooling of resources to accelerate national development.
The leadership program at Hurso focuses on three primary objectives aimed at reshaping the executive approach to governance:
Building a Common Understanding: The training seeks to establish a shared conceptual framework among leaders. This aims to ensure a unified approach across the government and facilitate the effective utilization of the existing institutional ecosystem.
Fulfilling Public Trust: A key focus is on mobilizing citizens and delivering on commitments made to the public. The program aims to instill a strong sense of responsibility and stewardship, guiding the nation with accountability.
Strengthening Institutional and Security Coordination: The initiative aims to align government structures at all levels—from grassroots institutions to the highest echelons of leadership—with national priorities. This includes a heavy emphasis on ensuring the country's security and stability.
The announcement highlights the government's focus on discipline and ideological alignment as it navigates ongoing national challenges. The Hurso Military Training Center, historically known for training defense forces, is now serving as the backdrop for this high-level civilian and political leadership indoctrination.
The training underscores the administration's push to synchronize the civil service and security apparatus under the "Medemer" vision, ensuring that leadership structures operate in lockstep with the federal government's strategic goals.
