The exhibition at Imbuga City Walk showcases young Rwandans’ dreams and innovations as government reaffirms commitment to youth empowerment programs
KIGALI, Rwanda — The Ministry of Youth and Arts has launched a compelling photo exhibition titled “Hamwe na Natwe for Youth and Jobs” at Imbuga City Walk in the heart of Kigali, celebrating the aspirations, artistic expressions, and remarkable achievements of Rwandan youth.
The event, inaugurated on Wednesday, serves as a vibrant platform to showcase the dreams and innovative spirit of young Rwandans while highlighting the tangible outcomes of government initiatives designed to empower the nation’s next generation.
A Celebration of Youth Potential
The exhibition features a diverse collection of photographs capturing the journeys of young entrepreneurs, artists, and innovators who have benefited from various government support programs. The images tell powerful stories of transformation, resilience, and success, offering visitors a visual narrative of Rwanda’s commitment to youth development.
“This exhibition is not just about photographs; it is about celebrating the extraordinary potential of our young people and the opportunities that exist for them to thrive,” said a Ministry of Youth and Arts official at the opening ceremony. “Through these images, we see the real impact of government policies and programs that are creating pathways to employment and entrepreneurship.”
Government Commitment to Youth Empowerment
The launch of the exhibition coincides with ongoing efforts by the Rwandan government to create meaningful opportunities for the country’s youth population. Among the key programs highlighted at the event are the Ingwate Guarantee Fund and the Aguka Youth Fund, both of which have been instrumental in providing financial support and entrepreneurial training to young Rwandans.
The Ingwate Guarantee Fund, established to facilitate access to credit for young entrepreneurs, has enabled thousands of youth to launch and expand businesses across various sectors. Meanwhile, the Aguka Youth Fund continues to provide grants and low-interest loans to support innovative projects and startups.
“We want to ensure that no young Rwandan is left behind,” the official added. “The government, under the leadership of His Excellency President Paul Kagame, remains unwavering in its commitment to creating an enabling environment where youth can realize their full potential.”
Young Entrepreneurs Share Their Stories
The exhibition features testimonials and photographs of young Rwandans who have successfully leveraged government support to build sustainable livelihoods. From agribusiness and technology to creative arts and manufacturing, the displayed works highlight the diversity of talent among Rwanda’s youth.
One featured entrepreneur, a 28-year-old tech startup founder from Kigali, described how the Aguka Youth Fund helped transform his idea into a thriving business. “The support I received was not just financial; it was a vote of confidence in my vision,” he said. “Today, my company employs several other young people, and we are contributing to Rwanda’s digital economy.”
Another participant, a young female artisan, shared how the Ingwate Guarantee Fund enabled her to access equipment and raw materials for her fashion design business. “These programs are changing lives,” she said. “They give us the tools we need to build our own futures.”
A Platform for Inspiration and Networking
Beyond the visual display, the exhibition provides a networking space where young people can connect with mentors, potential investors, and peers. Workshops and panel discussions are scheduled throughout the exhibition period, covering topics such as entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and career development.
