Beijing — China has strongly condemned the ongoing conflict involving Iran, describing it as an “unjust war” and calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities as tensions continue to rise across the region.
China’s top diplomat, Wang Yi, made the remarks during a high-level phone conversation with French officials, emphasizing the urgent need for coordinated international efforts to de-escalate the situation. He stressed that continued military action risks widening the conflict and undermining regional and global stability.
According to Chinese officials, Beijing is advocating for a diplomatic path forward, urging all parties involved to return to dialogue and negotiations rather than prolonged confrontation. Wang also called on major global powers, including France, to strengthen cooperation in promoting peace and preventing further escalation.
China has repeatedly voiced opposition to military strikes in the region, warning that the use of force only deepens instability and creates long-term consequences. Beijing has also called for respect for national sovereignty and adherence to international law, while encouraging mediation efforts through multilateral institutions.

Many infrastructures have been damaged and civilian casualties are reported.
The latest developments come amid growing global concern over the expanding conflict, which has already disrupted regional security dynamics and raised fears of broader international involvement. Analysts note that China’s diplomatic push reflects its effort to position itself as a stabilizing force while protecting key economic interests, including energy supplies and trade routes.
As fighting continues, international calls for restraint and dialogue are intensifying, with China urging all sides to act swiftly to prevent the situation from spiraling into a wider war.
