KIGALI, Rwanda – Christine Mukabunani has been chosen again to lead Rwanda’s National Consultative Forum of Political Organizations. The group helps different political parties work together.
Mukabunani, who leads the PS Imberakuri party, was picked for the job on March 27. This is her fourth time in this role. She said her main goals are to keep peace and help political parties cooperate.
“The special thing about Rwanda is that all parties talk together without fighting,” Mukabunani said. “We may disagree, but we always respect each other.”
The outgoing leader, Alphonse Nkubana, said many countries look to Rwanda as an example of how different parties can work as a team. The forum was created in 2003 to help share power fairly between political groups.
Right now, Rwanda faces challenges like reduced foreign aid and problems in neighboring countries. Mukabunani said all parties will stand together on important national issues.
The forum plans to hold training sessions to teach people about peaceful politics. This continues Rwanda’s approach of solving differences through talking rather than conflict.
