Kigali, Rwanda — In a powerful gesture of corporate solidarity with historical preservation, Liquid Intelligent Technologies handed over a symbolic cheque of 130,797,092 Rwandan francs (approx. $105,000 USD) this morning to Rwanda’s Minister of National Unity and Civic Engagement, Dr. Jean Damascène Bizimana, during a ceremony attended by representatives from MINUBUMWE, Imbuto Foundation, and Liquid Intelligent Technologies.

The contribution is part of a broader 10-year partnership aimed at supporting MINUBUMWE’s mission to preserve the memory of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The funds will be used to enhance educational infrastructure at genocide memorials, facilitate intergenerational dialogue, and digitize testimonies and historical records for broader accessibility.

“This contribution marks another milestone in teaching the history of Rwanda, combating genocide denial—including on social media—and establishing galleries within genocide memorials,” said Minister Bizimana. “We are deeply grateful to Liquid Intelligent Technologies and Imbuto Foundation for their steadfast support.”

Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a leading pan-African technology firm, has committed to annual donations and technical support to digitize Rwanda’s genocide memorials. The initiative includes interactive galleries at sites such as Nyange, Ntarama, and Murambi, with plans to expand to over 200 memorials nationwide.

Sam Nkusi, Group Executive at Liquid Intelligent Technologies, emphasized the importance of using technology to preserve memory:

“We want every visitor—whether on-site or remote—to access the full history of each memorial through digital platforms. This is about making memory accessible and permanent.”

The Imbuto Foundation, founded by Rwanda’s First Lady Jeannette Kagame, will oversee the implementation of the project, ensuring that the funds are used to foster education, remembrance, and unity.

This partnership reflects Rwanda’s continued commitment to truth, reconciliation, and the fight against genocide denial. It also sets a precedent for how technology and philanthropy can converge to safeguard history for future generations.
