Sosi served with the Ghana Armed Forces from 1992 until his retirement in 2009, building a reputation for discipline, technical expertise, and leadership. He began his career with the Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps (EME), where he specialized in automobile engineering, weapons systems, logistics, fleet management, and military technology.
His military service was deeply international. Sosi was deployed on several United Nations and regional peacekeeping missions, beginning with the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR) in 1994, at a critical moment in history. He later served with the ECOWAS Monitoring Group (ECOMOG) in Liberia (1995–1996), the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL, 1997–1998 and 2001–2002), the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL, 2002–2003), and the United Nations Mission in Congo (MONUC, 2006–2007 and 2008–2009).
These missions exposed him to diverse conflict environments and gave him invaluable experience in peacekeeping, security, and crisis response.
Education and Specialized Training
Alongside his service, Sosi pursued advanced education. He earned a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and later an MS in Nonprofit Management from Eastern University in the United States.
His professional training was extensive, covering multiple continents. He studied at the Ordnance Engineering Institute in China, MOWAG in Switzerland, the Electrical Mechanical Engineering School in Baroda, India, the Military College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in Secunderabad, India, the United Nations Training School in Ireland, the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, and the Canadian Forces School of Administration and Logistics in Canada.
He also holds specialized certificates in Conflict and Crisis Management and Defense Management, awarded jointly by GAFCSC, the University of Cranfield (UK), and the University of Bradford (UK).
Building Peace Beyond the Military
Following his retirement, Sosi has continued to serve humanity, shifting from military defense to peacebuilding. He co-founded Peacebuilders Without Borders, a nonprofit organization that uses nonviolent communication tools to promote peace and understanding across communities. His mission is simple yet profound: to help people live together in peace and harmony.
Entrepreneurship in the United States
Now based in the United States, Sosi also brings his engineering expertise into the civilian space as the founder of Autocare Mobile Services, a startup that provides on-the-go automobile maintenance. His business not only showcases his technical skills but also his adaptability and entrepreneurial vision.
