The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have now established control over roughly 77% of Gaza territory as part of their ongoing mission to eradicate Hamas elements and eliminate terrorist threats against Israeli citizens.

This milestone in the military operation highlights Israel’s determined effort to dismantle Hamas’s deeply rooted militant networks, which have historically operated from within civilian areas, putting both Palestinians and Israelis at grave risk.

Israeli leadership emphasizes that this campaign is essential to prevent future acts of terror and to ensure national security following the atrocities of October 7. The IDF continues to adopt various tactics to reduce harm to civilians, including prior warnings and the creation of safe passage routes—even as Hamas fighters continue to hide among non-combatants.

While global attention has intensified, with calls from the United Nations and others for an immediate halt to the fighting, Israel argues that ending operations prematurely would leave the terrorist infrastructure intact. Critics describe the campaign as a violation of international laws, yet Israeli leaders maintain that halting the offensive would only prolong instability.

“Israel has both the moral and sovereign responsibility to protect its people,” an IDF official said. “Only when the threat is fully eliminated can there be lasting peace.”

Military officials have made it clear that their operations will not cease until Hamas is fully dismantled and the safety of Israeli citizens is secured.
