Washington DC-Heightened tensions in the Middle East escalated further this week after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a warning directed at Israeli leadership, declaring that it would pursue Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with what it described as “full force.”
The statement, released Sunday, came amid an intensifying confrontation involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. Iranian officials linked to the IRGC said the group had already carried out more than 50 retaliatory operations against U.S. and Israeli targets, using a combination of missiles and unmanned aerial drones.
According to the IRGC’s announcement, the attacks were part of a broader response to what Tehran considers hostile military actions by Washington and its allies in the region. Officials warned that the strikes would not stop and could become more extensive in the coming days, insisting that the operations would continue until the “aggressor” retreats.
Claims of Missile Damage in Tel Aviv
The IRGC further claimed that one of its missile barrages struck industrial areas in Tel Aviv, Israel’s main commercial and financial center. Iranian officials said the strikes caused damage to several industrial facilities in the city.
However, independent verification of the reported damage has not yet been confirmed by international monitors or Israeli authorities. Israel has not publicly confirmed the extent of any impact on infrastructure in the city.
Reports of Strikes in Southern Iran
Meanwhile, Tasnim News Agency, a media outlet widely regarded as close to Iran’s security establishment, reported that U.S. and Israeli forces carried out strikes in Shiraz early Sunday morning.
According to the report, the strikes damaged several residential buildings and left a number of civilians injured. Iranian sources described the victims as “innocent residents,” though details regarding the number of casualties remain unclear.
Officials in Washington and Tel Aviv have not publicly confirmed the reported strike in Shiraz. As with several other developments in the rapidly evolving situation, independent verification remains limited.
Rising Regional Escalation
The latest statements and claims highlight the fragile security environment across the Middle East, where tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States have been steadily escalating in recent months. Military analysts warn that the growing exchange of threats and retaliatory actions increases the risk of broader regional confrontation.
Diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation have so far struggled to gain momentum, as each side accuses the other of initiating hostilities.
With military activity and rhetoric intensifying, international observers are closely monitoring developments, fearing that further escalation could draw additional actors into the conflict and destabilize the wider region.
