Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal acknowledged the severity of the accident, calling it “a very tragic accident.” He emphasized that rescue efforts were ongoing and urged patience as authorities work to determine the full extent of the situation.
Local authorities have reported that there appear to be no survivors, according to AFP and AP news agencies.
Meanwhile, the King and Queen have expressed their profound shock over the events, with King Charles stating: “Our special prayers and deepest possible sympathy are with the families and friends of all those affected by this appallingly tragic incident.”
