New York — Trump Mobile, a new cellular phone service introduced by the Trump organization earlier this year, has postponed initial deliveries of its signature gold-colored smartphones, according to people familiar with the rollout.
The service, branded as Trump Mobile, was unveiled as an effort to expand the organization’s presence beyond real estate and hospitality and into consumer technology. Early marketing emphasized premium aesthetics and brand identity, with the gold-toned handset positioned as a flagship device tied to the launch of the network.
However, customers who placed early orders have been notified that shipments will take longer than expected. While the company has not released a detailed explanation, the delay appears to be linked to manufacturing and logistics challenges rather than a cancellation of the product. The phones are still expected to ship once those issues are resolved.
Representatives for the Trump Organization have said the rollout of Trump Mobile is being handled in phases, with service activation, customer support, and device fulfillment being scaled gradually. They added that the company remains committed to delivering the devices to customers who pre-ordered them.
Trump Mobile enters a highly competitive U.S. wireless market dominated by established carriers and numerous mobile virtual network operators. Analysts say delays at launch are not unusual for new entrants, particularly those offering customized or limited-run hardware.
The Trump Organization has not provided a revised shipping timeline but indicated that additional updates will be shared directly with customers as production progresses. For now, the gold-colored phone remains a central part of the brand’s marketing, even as its arrival is pushed back.
