Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly advancing towards appointing Brentford’s Thomas Frank as their new head coach following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou. While no formal approach has been confirmed, Brentford anticipate discussions with Spurs in the coming days.

Frank, 51, has emerged as a frontrunner for the role, with Tottenham expected to pay over £10 million in compensation should they proceed with his appointment. That sum could increase depending on the number of staff Frank decides to bring with him to North London.

Postecoglou’s departure came just 16 days after guiding Spurs to Europa League glory, ending the club’s 17-year trophy drought. However, their domestic campaign was far less inspiring, finishing 17th in the Premier League after a disastrous run of 22 losses in 38 matches.

Frank’s tenure at Brentford has been marked by stability and success. Since taking over in 2018, he secured their promotion to the Premier League via a Championship play-off win in 2021 and has maintained their top-flight presence with a modest budget. This season, Brentford finished 10th—significantly outperforming Spurs by seven places and 18 points.

Major Overhaul Continues at Spurs

Tottenham’s shake-up extends beyond their managerial search. Chief football officer Scott Munn is set to leave the club amid ongoing internal restructuring. Having joined Spurs in 2023, Munn played a pivotal role in recruiting Postecoglou. His departure follows the arrival of new chief executive Vinai Venkatesham, alongside executive director Donna Cullen’s exit.

Additionally, former football director Fabio Paratici is in discussions regarding a return to the club following the expiration of his FIFA ban for financial irregularities linked to his time at Juventus. While interest has surfaced from the Middle East, Paratici reportedly favors rejoining Tottenham.

Son Heung-min Pays Tribute to Postecoglou

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Postecoglou, calling him a “legend” who changed the trajectory of the club.

“You believed in yourself and us from day one and never wavered, even when others did,” Son wrote. “Your way brought this club the best night it’s had in decades. We will have those memories for life.”

Postecoglou’s impact on Spurs—both in silverware and leadership—will be remembered, even as the club prepares for a new era under potential incoming boss Thomas Frank.
