Following his passing, funeral and burial arrangements were immediately set in motion for his ancestral hometown of Kizimkazi, Zanzibar.
In terms of his personal background and early life, Hafidh Ameir Hassan married Samia Suluhu Hassan in 1978. Together, the couple built a large family, raising four children—three sons and one daughter. Professionally, he was a highly respected agricultural academic and intellectual who served for years as an agricultural officer, focusing his efforts on rural development and farming systems within the islands of Zanzibar.
