President Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Head of State of Burkina Faso and President of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) Confederation, visited the city of Ouahigouya in the Yatenga Region as part of his continuing nationwide outreach to engage directly with communities across the country. According to an official statement from the Directorate of Communication of the Presidency of Faso, the visit forms part of the Head of State’s regular program of traveling to different regions to meet citizens, listen to local concerns, and strengthen communication between national leadership and local communities.
Upon his arrival in Ouahigouya, President Traoré was welcomed by regional administrative officials, traditional authorities, and large numbers of residents who gathered along the city’s main streets to greet him. The official statement described the reception as a demonstration of strong public enthusiasm and support, with crowds lining the route as the President entered the city. Local authorities, led by the regional governor, formally received the Head of State before he continued with activities scheduled during the visit.
The Presidency stated that the regional tour reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining close contact with citizens throughout Burkina Faso. In its official communication, the Presidency noted that the visit is intended to reinforce dialogue between the country’s leadership and the population while promoting national cohesion and development. The statement added that the large public turnout illustrated what it described as the close relationship between the leadership of the country’s Progressive Popular Revolution and the people of Burkina Faso.
