MUSANZE, RWANDA — As Rwanda continues to fortify its national and regional defense capabilities, President Paul Kagame is set to preside over the graduation ceremony of the Senior Command and Staff Course today.
The highly anticipated event is taking place at the prestigious Rwanda Defence Forces Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) located in Nyakinama, Musanze District in the country’s Northern Province.
President Kagame, serving as the Commander-in-Chief of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), will award certificates and honors to a new cohort of senior military officers who have successfully completed the rigorous, months-long strategic training program.
The Senior Command and Staff Course is the highest level of military education offered at the institution. It is meticulously designed to equip senior military personnel with advanced operational leadership skills, strategic foresight, and a comprehensive understanding of contemporary, multi-domain security dynamics. Graduates of the program are rigorously prepared to assume critical command and staff responsibilities both within the national force structure and during international peacekeeping deployments.
Consistent with Rwanda’s longstanding commitment to pan-African security cooperation and military diplomacy, the graduating class typically includes allied officers from several partner nations across the African continent. This cross-border integration fosters vital interoperability and shared strategic doctrine among regional defense forces.
Defense analysts and attendees are highly anticipating President Kagame’s keynote address. He is expected to underscore the critical importance of military professionalism, technological agility in the face of modern asymmetric threats, and Rwanda’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and stability in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.
The RDF Command and Staff College in Nyakinama remains a cornerstone of Rwanda’s military excellence, consistently producing elite leaders capable of navigating the complex defense and security challenges of the 21st century.
More updates and excerpts from the President’s address will be provided following the conclusion of the ceremony.
